What’s Revealed in Nature … A flexible tree with deeper roots can withstand storms much better than one with shallow roots.
Teaches Us … Attaining and maintaining a balanced lifestyle helps us develop a strong internal system, which helps us withstand the shocks of our external world.
If the root system of a tree is healthy, it can withstand the loss of a few limbs, and over time, replace those limbs with healthy ones. If what is beneath the surface is healthy, then what is above the surface can take some shocks and still survive
Another example of this phenomenon is a deep lake versus a shallow lake. If you throw a piece of rock in a shallow lake, the ripples on the surface are wider and last longer. But the same piece of rock in a deeper lake causes shorter ripples and settles in quietly. The deeper lake can withstand the “intrusion” of the rock with fewer disturbances than the shallow one.
